I could smell the cookies I just baked. As I cuddled in my blankets, I stared out the window at the trees sitting on the snowy horizon. The ginger-scented air tickled my nose. I tore my eyes from the window and looked over to the blazing fire, as the smoke drifted up the chimney. I could not wait to open the presents, but as a crisp breeze swept through the doorway, I looked out at the lifeless branches and the cloudy sky. In the distance, the dark ice was calling me.

His facial features are humanoid, but he is much taller, about 8 feet. This is actually less than average for his species, on average, they are about 10 feet tall and the tallest of them was 15 feet tall! The patterns of their language are so irregular that it is impossible for someone who is not a native to speak it like one. They have no hair and their hearing range ranges from 10 Hertz to 40,000 Hertz. Their blood is red. They either have red or purple eyes. They have several pipe like structures growing from the front of their ears and these are used to identify poisonous or other strange or dangerous gases. These creatures developed these “pipes” because their original planet is filled with plants that randomly release poisonous gases. Their noses are engineered artificially to adapt to the atmosphere of any place. The structure of their noses also resembles that of humans, but they have whiskers growing from the bottom. These whiskers have an acid that is harmful to insects or insect-like creatures. This acid is produced from their nostrils. They genetically engineered themselves to be born with spikes that are inside their foot and can be brought outside of it, this helps them get a better grip on their surroundings. They also have fingers and they have five as well, however, they genetically engineered themselves to have retractable claws in case they do not have any weapons with themselves. They took 1 million years to get to the present state that they are in today. Dardes: Come on Xorges! Let us take this revolving imperfect ellipsoid and the liquid within it. It seems to exhibit some useful properties. Xorglaam: But we do not know what lies there! Xorglaam is Dardes’s most trusted right hand man. He is very small, only 6 feet tall. Dardes: How does it even matter (snickers) are you afraid of aliens? Xorglaam: Well, you never know. Libdinam: Er… Sir, intelligent life on this liquidy planet has been detected by us. Xorglaam: How do you know that and what do you mean intelligent? Libdinam: Well… I mean their technology is obviously inferior, but they have languages and have discovered many things about mathematics. Xorglaam: Tell me more about them. Have they discovered other intelligent life? Libdinam: No, in fact, the furthest they have travelled to in person is to the moon. Dardes: The moon? Libdinam: It’s the satellite that revolves around their planet. Xorglaam: For how long have they been around and how old is their civilization? Libdinam: Well, they go back about 200,000 years, however they only started forming organized civilizations some thousand years ago and they have an immense amount of languages. Dardes: Why, this is an extremely inconvenient inconvenience. Libdinam: And that is not all, there also an uncountable number of species on their planet, they are all, however, less intelligent than them. Dardes: What type are they? Libdinam: They are a Type 0 civilization, but they are very quaint.... Xorglaam: What do you mean? Libdinam: Well, you see for several millennia they did not develop much, yes, they did discover writing and flat geometry and algebra and the invention of a figure particularly important for their number theory called 0, then they discovered pi and tried to approximate it, but progress was relatively slow. However, then came an explosion of knowledge and in one century, they had unlocked the secrets of quantum theory and what they call the general theory of relativity. However, they can not seem to combine them. Dardes: You mean, they do not know the Theory of Everything? Xorglaam: Hah! no wonder they are Type 0, pfff, can’t even control the weather! We can easily eradicate them. Libdinam: Well, they can put up a fight, however they have never been invaded by extraterrestrials before. Dardes: How can we be fought? We just need to hit their planet with an Anti-Bio Beam and it will kill every single living thing on the face of their planet! And painlessly too! Xorglaam: No! There might be certain living things which might come of use to us in the future. We have to fight them, they will try to stop us. Libdinam: We could show them our might and make them surrender. Xorglaam: I disagree again. They might try to destroy us from behind our backs to win back their freedom. I say, we kill a lot of them. Then they will become afraid of us and then we can exploit the planet and them! Then, after there is nothing more to exploit, we shall leave and leave this planet alone. Fair and square! (He grinned madly) Libdinam: Er… Sir, how is that fair, they haven’t done anything to us…. Xorglaam punches Libdinam on the face. Libdinam is lying on his face and blood is spurting out of it. Then he kicks Libdinam on the face again and then steps on his right hand and begins to crush it slowly. Libdinam is too shocked to scream. Xorglaam: How dare you question me! Libdinam: I’m sorry general! I’m sorry….. Xorglaam: Get back to work! Your promotion has been cancelled. If you do anything to question me again, I shall kill you! Libdinam scurried away. Dardes is trying to hold back his laughter. Xorglaam: How dare that lowly labourer tell me what to do! Dardes: Well, he is a very well educated and smart labourer. Xorglaam: Bah! Anyway, let us land on this planet, I am very curious and excited. Dardes: About what are you curious? Xorglaam: (smiles devilishly) About how their blood looks like. Diary:
A girl call Mary went to visit her cousin (Miranda), and she gets loose in the big city! She needs to get back to her house (that is in a little village, very far from the city that she is visiting), and she meet two girls that help her (Olivia and Victoria). At the end, they need to separate, cause each of them live in different places, but they will meet every year in the ‘mysterious’ place that the meet each other the first time. 14th of May of 2013 Hey there! You’re a diary, my diary, and you are a present from my grandfather.I’m Mary, I am 20 years old. I live in Minnesota with my parents and my 17-years-old little sister. Tomorrow , I will go to visit my cousin Miranda. Yehh! She is a few years older than me, but we are like BFF. All my family (including me) live in Chicago, but Miranda went to live to Pennsylvania because she is studying at the university there. She want to be a doctor, and in Pennsylvania they have very good medical universities, so she went there to study. I study here, in Chicago. I want to be an actress, and here we have very good academies. Well, back to what I was talking before, Tomorrow I will visit my cousin, and I very nervous, because I don’t see her since last summer. I have done my luggage, and I’m prepare to go to Pennsylvania NOW!!! The bad thing is that I’m going by bus, and I’m gonna be very worry there without my family. When I was little, Miranda and I we went in the same car when we travel (we usually travel all the family together). and we didn’t get borrowed. Now is different. Very different. Now, I’m the person more nervous and happy in all the planet, cause tomorrow I’ll see my cousin!!!! 15th of May of 2013 Yehh!! Finally the day has come!! I’m writing you from Miranda’s living room. Yes, I’m in her house. She says that we are gonna visit a lot a very nice village near here, and she has talk to me about the very nice village. She says is wonderful. I am going to stay here only four days, and I’m going to be with my cousin all the time in this four days. In the bus was ok. I was sitting with a girl, that I don’t remember her name, but she told me a lot of funny things. I hope I can see her other day, because she was also a very interesting girl. Miranda is very happy because I am here with her. She has told me everything, how the things are going at her university, her new friends… A lot of things!! Tomorrow we’re gonna visit a village. Miranda says that is very small, but you can get loose on it streets very easily. Isn’t it amazing?! The bad thing of the no-name-village is that is too far from here. Five to six hours in car, and seven on bus. And we are going by bus because my cousin doesn’t have a car yet!!! 16th of May of 2013 I’m finally at the room of the hotel that we are going to stay today and tomorrow. The village is very nice, and here the people are also very nice. We have visit basically all the whole city, and tomorrow, unfortunately, we will go, but we will have some time to finish to visit this marvellous village. The village it was small, but with a lot of things to visit it, like visit museum or walk on the beautiful streets. We also went on this buses that ride you all over the city, and you can see all the museums and sculptures. It was great. I want to stay here more time!!!!!!!!! 17th of May of 2013 Hello diary. I need to tell you what has happen today. First I need to say that I’m not with Miranda. I’m with to girls call Olivia and Victoria. Now I’m going to tell all what has happen today: It was our last day for Miranda and I in this beautiful and magnificent city. We had all the luggage prepared, and ready to go. In an hour and a half the bus will come, so we decided to have a little walk around the city one last time ( the hotel was near the city center) Remember that I told you that you can get loose on this city easily? Well, it happens to me. When I was walking, Miranda stopped in a souvenir shop, but I didn’t see her. I continue walking, and suddenly, I stopped, and I guess that I was alone. Nobody were around me. I get loose!!! I found two other girls (Olivia and Victoria), and we start walking the three of us, trying to find the exit. But we didn’t. They were so kind to me. It was begin to getting dark, so when we so this motel (yep, I’m now in a motel), we decided to sleep here, and tomorrow maybe, we can get out of here easily. The bad thing is that I don’t have either my phone to call Miranda because it was in my luggage. Olivia and Victoria can’t call their family either because their phones doesn’t have any battery. We need to wait for tomorrow. I hope that we can get out of here, because tomorrow I need to get the bus, and in two days I need to return back home. I don’t know what I’m going to do if in two days if I don’t get out of here!!! 19th of May of 2013 OK diary, I’m back home (no my home, Miranda’s). I need to tell you everything that happened: the day after I met Olivia and Victoria (the 18th of May), I slept on the motel. I was very surprise and at the same time nervous of what have happen, that I slept only four hours. Today at morning, I woke up instantly, and I woke up Victoria and Olivia. And the get mad at me because of that! Just kidding!!! After that we went to had some breakfast, and then, we prepared our suitcase and we got ready to start looking the way to get out of that laberintic (and marvellous) village. We were tired, but also very enthusiastic because soon, we could get out of there. But we were still lose, and we could even get more lost. But we were ready. We gave the keys of our bedroom, and then, we went outside to find the way to get out of there. It was very very difficult to get out of there, because we didn’t had wifi there!! The idea was to called Miranda, and there,(yes, Olivia and Victoria finally got a charger) she could take us out of there. But because there was any wifi we couldn’t. The second idea was to called a taxi, but we couldn also because there wasn’t wifi!!!! So we did it the worst way, with a map, and walking trying to get out of there. But that was the way to get out so…. we started walking. Walking up, walking down. Buying some ice-creams (yes, we had some money). Two hours passed, and we were still there!! We found a very old man who helped us. He said that he got lost also, he found the way to get out of there, but he told us that he loved the way the village was built (the streets you never can get out, that’s how he call it), that he buy a little house, and he lived now there. And he still get loose. This is amazing. People who live here get loose in their own village. Wow! We were going all the way straight, like the man told us. We started walking, straight, straight, and then…. we found the way to go out!! Yayyy!!! But now, the horrible thing, (is not horrible, but is surprised me when my cousin told me that).... We were in a attraction park!!! Can you believe it?? Well now the story that Miranda told me: I was walking, and I found this little village. But this really didn’t exist. It was all fiction!!! YES! The people of the real city that we were visiting (Miranda and I) create a maze, that was the city that Victoria, Olivia and I were visiting. The old man was an actor. And the motel that we slept on was not a real motel!! They all did it pretty real. The people of the ‘village’ were also actors and actress, but there were real people that get loose there!! Olivia, Vicky and I promised that all the years (we became BFF) we will come to this amazing attraction park. They say that us that if we like, we can be actress next year!! But we prefer visiting the village again, like this year. My diary ends here, because I have not more pages to write you, but I promise next year, I will add some extra pages, so you can know everything! Narrative Poem by HJS
A fisherman lived in the past who loved to be onna sea. But the heavy waves like a beast not allowed be onna sea. WHoosh, WHoosh scary breaker comes to break his ship. Help, Help the voice echoed he cried like a sheep. ‘Please my God, forgive me.’ he bent his knees and prayed, ‘Oh Please, please save me.’ Shame, the God can’t give grades for praying. Do I have any hope? No, but you should not give up. There would be a bright future if you never give up them. He finally reached to the cave. And there was no more wave on see. But because also no farries on see, He said, ‘Rather die than live in here!’ Days after days, hours after hours, He became weaker and weaker. He fainted on the cold floor. Hopeless and hopeless, no uplift lifted himself. ‘See there’s a ship for you!’ A voice resound around the cave. ‘See, there’s a ship for you!’ this hopeless guy be saved. Do I have any hope? No, but you should not give up. There would be a bright future if you never give up them. The hopes are rise from the opposite, So don’t give up, don’t give up, even you’re hopeless. ............................................................................................................................................. Narrative Poem by AC Luke is the last one still sane, But he doesn’t quite feel the same, Blood drips down the walls, and Murderers roam the halls. Day is dying like the people inside Their sanity washed out like the tide. Blood drips down the walls, and Murderers roam the halls. Luke is the only one left And the hospital was bereft Of sane minds to jest Blood drips down the walls, and Murderers roam the halls. Luke runs from room to room, to escape the doom and gloom Blood drips down the walls, and Murderers roam the halls. He’s trapped by two huge creeps, Over them he leaps. Blood drips down the walls, and Murderers roam the halls. He’s found a window that isn’t boarded up He walked over to the police and said “sup!” Blood drips down the walls, and Murderers roam the halls. Gunned down on that very spot and that’s all he got What a shame he made it out and was given nothing but doubt. ............................................................................................................................................. Narrative Poem by KO Dream I ride on my bicycle through the winding road, It’s scary, but I’m not bored The forest is dark, And the wolves give a deep bark, Only five more minutes, Till I’ll be home for my biscuits, The cold wind is blowing hard, And I won’t give up and pedal the hill upward, But I can’t find the way out, I really want to cry out loud, Then I was struck by a lightning, I heard a voice crying, “Are you alright?” An old lady is sitting straight, Then an old man is smiling What a lovely day, I want to go sailing, We should go out to the sea And have a picnic with tea We had a lovely time Relaxed and fun I wanted to stay forever They told me I can not stay, never It’s too early to be up here We will come to pick you up from there, Don’t worry it will be alright, Forget about us and your future will be bright, Look in the cellar, You will find our family album there, We love you dear, Enjoy till the last minute disappears, Then we’ll come down, Until we meet, when, We won’t say goodbye, Because we’ll definitely come near by, Until then our sweet little great grandson, You are for us a rising sun, Then the shutter rolled up, “Good morning, it’s time to wake up!!” My angry mother is looking , She wouldn’t stop crying, “How often do I have to call you! You know this is a real stress for me and you!” I rushed down stairs searched for an old album in despair, Yes, I found it in dust I looked through because it was a must, There I found them smiling In a family photo gathering, My great grandmother and father I saw them just a few minutes ago no longer, Told me I should not go with them, The time is too early to stay with them, So I know they are looking after me, I’m not so scared and till they come to take me to sea I’ll enjoy the life here on earth, Till I forget to wake up and breath. ............................................................................................................................................. Lucy was staring into space at the graffiti-ridden street in front of her. She was a 23-year-old woman and was dealing with depression, living in her 3 room flat in East London. She was always thinking about if living was worth the hassle. She had a date with a 24-year-old called William at a rip-off of Nando’s. He wasn’t exactly a gentleman but he was a nice guy to be around. She met William round the back of the fake Nando’s, he was waiting for her sitting on the bonnet of his blue Ford Fiesta. He strutted over to Lucy. He was a tall man wearing a red hat, some ripped baggy jeans, a huge body-warmer and some chains round his neck. Lucy was wearing some ripped skinny jeans and a baggy T-shirt. They walked into the restaurant and sat down at a table for two. Lucy had the peri-peri chicken and William had the chicken wings. William said to Lucy, “You know maybe we should stop coming here, it really shows on you ya cow!.” “WHAT! excuse me but I thought you were the one who asked me to come here with you.” She was working up in a rage now, she was breathing heavily, her pulse speeding up and fists clenching. She grabbed her fork and stabbed William in the neck slowly twisting the fork to cause maximum pain. The blood was oozing out staining his white T-shirt turning it red, he struggled for a bit then fell limp and gurgled. she ran fork in hand covered in blood crying and screaming. Meanwhile in the restaurant the waiter had called 999 and the police were already on their way. Lucy ran until she found an unlocked bike and was riding to her apartment. She brought the bike inside and locked the door behind her. She was freaking out. She had no idea what to do so she decided to call her friend Jake to ask what to do. “I just killed William. What do I do.” “Take deep breaths in and out in and out, then try to do something to take your mind off it like playing a game just don’t think about it.” and hung up. She decided to check her emails and there was a knocking at the door “Open up! This is the police from New Scotland Yard.” said a gravelly voice on the other side. But Lucy did quite the opposite and blocked the door with most of her furniture pushed up against the thin wooden door. She had already planned her escape route and was lowering her bedsheets out of the living room window. Luckily she only lived on the second floor. It was a height of two storeys and was on the verge of being deadly. Her phone rang when she was tying the bedsheets to the table which was the piece of furniture closest to the door she answered it “Hey Lucy.” It was her friend Wayne. “I just saw there’s someone the news called Lucy and she looks like you too.” “You idiot Wayne that is me!” Cried Lucy “You killed William!” “He called me a cow!” “The police?” “Yep right outside the door now.” “Ah, well I’ll leave you to it” and he hung up. She slowly climbed down the wall clinging on to the sheets for dear life. The sheets suddenly dropped nearly throwing Lucy off of them. Death was inevitable as she plummeted towards the earth. ‘The table must have slipped’ thought Lucy as she plunged to her impending doom. At the last second Lucy stopped hanging upside-down about a metre from the ground. The table had pulled her barricade apart but was stopped by the windowsill. Lucy had escaped her drab flat and was running to the last place she could go. Her brothers flat. Again not the most luxurious flat available but it was safe. Lucy lived in North-east London while her Brother Luke lived in south-east London. It was a long way but she got there by walking and hitchhiking. She knocked on the door Luke answered “hello who is it?” “it’s Lucy” he opened the door and let her in “hey sis whatcha doin in these parts” “well turn on the news and you’ll see” Luke walked over to his 20 inch TV and turned it on. The newsreader was in the middle of saying “so if you see this woman contact police immediately” “what did you do?!?” exclaimed Luke with a sense of outrage in his voice, Lucy began to stutter “d-da-dd-d-di-dibididab furgleyurgle” she had completely lost control of her voice. “Ssssshhh” uttered Luke pressing his forefinger on her lips “Do you want some tea or coffee Luce” said Luke in a calming tone. He knew that she had been through an emotional shock. “You can stay here for a few days if you want” “Yes please” she stayed for three days at her brothers house. As she waved goodbye to her brother she thought “Why not visit William?”. It took her an hour to go to the graveyard where they buried William, but her oyster card surprisingly still worked. She wandered around for a while looking for William’s grave. At long last she found a grave marked ‘William Foster’ she felt sorry for him, she had not wanted this but there he was all alone. She started crying, the tears rolling down her cheeks as she dropped to her knees “I’m sorry” she muttered as she held the fork in front of her own neck and falling flat on her face. “Anne, may I speak to you?” She stops in her tracks, and reluctantly turns to face her literature teacher as the rest of the class files out. The teacher shuffles some papers and looks into her eyes, causing Anne to avert her gaze. “I’d like to speak to you about the tests I handed back today. I see that you have a few areas you may need to work on...” The young girl sighs inwardly and tunes out as the teacher offers extra help, and reminds her that she needs to work harder than the other students, due to her “troubles in comprehending written text”. She’s had this conversation countless times. As the teacher dismisses her, Anne ducks out of the classroom quickly and stops by the girl’s bed chamber to drop off her school bag, and jogs down the stairs to the first floor, then out the door onto the orphanage’s back lawn. Rounding the corner, she slows her pace and smiles. The dog lies in the alcove between the garden shed and some trees, well hidden by those who don’t know to search for it. She squats next to the resting dog, running a hand over its back, then reaches into her pocket for a few slices of leftover ham from breakfast that she had saved for this purpose. Anne had been caring for the animal for five months now, from the time it wandered onto the front lawn with two long gashes in its coat of fur, where the blood had already dried. At first, she had been concerned about the wounds affecting the dog’s health, but they didn’t seem to bother him. The gashes faded into almost imperceptible scars over time and Anne pays no mind to them now. She rests her back against a tree trunk and talks to the dog, detailing the day’s uneventful happenings as he appears to listen. She talks until the dinner bell rings, then says “goodbye” to her dog, and leaves. Even after all these months, she’s yet to find a name for her pet. For Anne, every day is more or less the same. She barely makes it through her classes, is neither included or specifically excluded by the other children, and visits the dog every day before suppertime. Life at an orphanage is mundane. Then, two weeks later, comes a day that is not so mundane. Ordinarily, Anne rushes out of class as usual to escape the dreaded atmosphere as quickly as possible. She seeks her dog in the spot where he usually resides after classes, waiting just for her. Extraordinarily, the dog is gone. She finds only an empty space, home to nothing alive, apart from some tranquil plants and the occasional bird. Hoping that the dog had just decided to wander around the greens, she searches every nook, making her way across great lawns around the building. She only covers less than half of the outdoor areas before the dinner bell rings as usual, forcing her to abandon search for the evening. The orphanage matron eventually calls the girls in for bed. As Anne curls her knees up to her chest in her small cot, she vows to resume her search the next morning. But for now, all she is capable of is sleep. The next morning, Anne gets up half an hour earlier to make another round around the old building, but still sees no sign of her dog. For the next three days, the girl is still alone. Just as she’s beginning to give up hope, Anne spots a spectacularly canine-like figure resting under the tree, as if it was specifically deposited there for her to find. “Dog!”, she exclaims, relief washing through her, for she felt the need to call something and still had no better name. She dashes to where the dog lays, his back facing her. She reaches out her hand to scratch him behind the ears. There is no response. Anne hesitates for a moment then tentatively flips the dog onto its back, and the limp body falls on its other side with a soft thud. The lifeless form is still. What is most curious, however, are the two deep red gashes on the dog’s underside. They are not unlike the ones Anne found when she first adopted the dog. This time, though, the wounds and fresh and bleeding, and the dog has already died. The girl says nothing, only lets the tears balance on the rim of her eyes. They fall as she blinks. She carefully picks the body off up the ground, and walks without direction for a while. Eventually, Anne ends up at the edge of the woods encircling the back of the orphanage building. She decides that it is here she will bury it. Anne tries to use the toe of her shoe to dig a small hole, to no avail. She makes an exasperated sound and gets down on her hands and knees, clawing at a patch of dirt, flinging the remnants behind her. When she’s dug for roughly an hour, she sits back on her knees. Her back is sore, her neck in pain, and joints roughed. She catches sight of the dog’s body and crumbles a bit more on the inside. She’s about to turn her attention back to the pit, but spots a flash of red. A pair, in fact. Like wolf eyes. A shadow begins to take form, emerging slowly, slowly, from behind the tree trunks. A wispy grey outline wavers around the shape, creating the illusion of a distorted image. After some time, it recedes into the background, the shadow dissolving, hidden again behind the trees. Suddenly, a creature leaps swiftly into the clearing where Anne stands. It bares its jagged teeth, like a hundred small knives arranged to kill. The wolf-like animal opens its mouth ever so slightly and emits a deep, rumbling growl, so cold-blooded it could scare every living thing within a mile radius back under the ground. But Anne does not move. Doesn’t twitch a muscle. Doesn’t even breathe. She risks a quick glance at the ground and realises with a start that her dog’s corpse isn’t there. She darts her eyes to the creature again, and daring to look at it directly, it dawns on her that the beast looks familiar. Anne realises that the creature is not a wolf, it’s a dog. Her dog. She slowly rises to her feet, wiping her muddy hands on her skirt. Then she turns on her heel, runs, and doesn’t look back once. The creature doesn’t follow. Nothing happens for another two days. There’s no sign of her dog: dead, or alive in the form of a monster. One night as she is in her cot, about to sleep, she spots a shadow at the foot of her bed. A pair of flashing red eyes and gleaming fangs. Her dog is back. For a few seconds, a few minutes, a few hours, the dog stays still. It even takes a seat. But Anne never relaxes, convinced the creature is on the verge of attacking each time. The dog comes back the next night, and the night after that. Every night is the same. The dog sits soundlessly, Anne is scared witless, and can’t calm herself enough to fall asleep. On the thirty-first day of the month, the dog leaps onto Anne’s bed, and lays down beside her. Her entire body tenses up at first, but begins to relax as she notices it isn’t doing any harm. The girl and dog stay like this for the entire night. For the first time in weeks, Anne sleeps, and dreams. We wrote three interesting facts about ourselves. From these, we created a character sketch:
Alice is really interesting of snowman. She made snowman of Lego and draw snowmen but she has never made snowman with cold snow because she doesn’t like cold thing. One day she got a ticket to make snowman with snow! First time she didn’t want to go there but she read this…: This snow is warm snow and f you touch it, it doesn’t melt... So she went there. When she reached there, she can see large spaceship. She went inside the spaceship. The driver said please take a seatbelt please. So Alice did that. Suddenly the snow was under her feet. But it wasn’t cold. She thought it’s amazing. It didn’t melt she looked at the outside. She could see beautiful stars and earth. She was surprised. Her dream was go to the space. The driver said. “ It’s time to play with snow!” she made as many as snowman. After she made snowman, she got boring. So she made her favorite instrument called Clarinet . She made lid and stuff like that. She blew it. The sound came out. She played the Clarinet all the time. She was happy. Other people trying to make a instrument. Piano, drums, guitar stuff like that. (E.C.) Luke was on holiday in scotland, on his birthday finding out about his scottish roots when his parents told him he was going on his dream holiday touring australia go-karting, surfing, and relaxing on the beach. It was a 12-hour flight but it was worth it. He was hopping up and down in his seat. He was so excited, He’d never been out of europe (apart from when he went to tanzania) so it was a brand new continent. (A.C.) I love to play soccer, but currently, FIFA prohibited making soccer balls. But instead of playing games with soccer balls, FIFA has chosen cheese balls to play. Most of the people didn’t mind of the decision, but some people protested and been against to FIFA. I was one of the people who were against the decision. You know what? I don’t even eat cheese at all! How could I play soccer with that smelly cheese balls? I had decided not to play soccer any more, because of those cheese balls. But one day, I heard that people in Spain sometimes make soccer balls illegally. Beside, if you have some money, you can actually buy them. Soon, it became my only hope. (H.K.S.) 12-year-old Lisa was excited, because she is going to France. this is because she won a music competition, and the winner has two weeks in France. The september 15th, Lisa was in the airport, to go to France, but she was a little bit scared, because she was alergic to the cats, and a man was with three cats in the same plane. But fortunately, Lisa went in the back of the plane, and the man was in the front. She was relax, because she was listen to music. Her favourite music. (L.S.) Mary was so happy with her birthday present. Her grandfather, who lives in Japan for a moment, just gave her a phone call to remind her that she will send her summer vacation with him. He knew that she have yearned to go Japan and visit him. Because Mary was a big fan with her grandfather’s drawings. She loves art. She was interested in art since she saw her grandfather work of art which shows the landscape of his hometown. Now Mary is really looking foward of the visiting to Japan. Also hopefully she could escape from that furious dog! (H.J.S.) Alex could not believe that he had landed on Europa, he had just been living his quite normal life, until, something very strange happened. Since he was studying physics and mathematics in the University of Berkeley and doing his own research, he had an understanding of what might have happened. It had been a quantum fluctuation, the probability of this happening was so small that it could be neglected, but it happened and why to him? How was it that his entire body had fluctuated and reformed completely? Why had he land on Europa? The fluctuation had happened, while he had been wearing his manufactured jacket, which was able to withstand -170°C, since Europa was mostly -160°C, he had been very lucky. The probability of this happened was so low, that it made his mind dizzy. It was less than the 10 raised to the power of negative 23 to the power of itself! For that probability to be practically possible, you would have to live for much longer than the age of the Universe! (N.M.) Write a paragraph about a winter scene using words that do not contain the letter ‘a’ (you may have two words with an ‘a’)…
I shivered, remembering the time I went to the hills. Never before did cold grip me so severely If I go outside, I will freeze The cold, strong wind hurts my skin The outside is covered in fog The cold atmosphere, loud sounds of the furious winds My body shook violently with cold Putting these ideas together, we came up with: I shivered, remembering the time I went to the hills. The outside was covered in fog. The cold, strong wind hurt my skin, the cold atmosphere, with loud sounds of the furious winds, gripped me severely. My body shook violently with cold. I thought I would freeze. More ideas on this theme: Every winter we go to our house in sweden to go skiing. I go to the big hill, when my sister went on the bunny-hill. I love skiing. then the ‘icy death’ came. It swept from house to house killing all inside. The victims were found the next morning, frozen blue. (by A.C.)
